StableMerge Technologies Private Limited is an early-stage startup working in software testing and test automation for a range of clients. We also build Android and iOS apps, as well as websites for local marketplaces and other clients. We are a small team, so your work will reach real users quickly.
About the role
We are hiring for a 6-month paid internship as a QA Engineering Intern to test our product manually and help build our automation from the ground up. You will work directly with developers, take ownership early, and use AI tools to work faster without lowering the quality bar.
What you'll do
Manual testing
- Review requirements and write clear test scenarios and test cases
- Run functional, regression, smoke and exploratory tests on new features
- Log bugs with clear reproduction steps, and follow them through to closure
Automation testing
- Write and maintain UI test scripts using Java with Selenium and Playwright
- Add new automated coverage and fix flaky tests
- Help run automated test suites and report results to the team
API testing
- Test REST APIs and automate those tests using REST Assured
- Validate status codes, response data, error handling and edge cases
AI-assisted QA
- Use tools like Claude and ChatGPT to draft test cases, generate test data, write scripts and debug failures
- Review and verify AI output before relying on it
Teamwork
- Work with senior QA engineers, developers and product to clarify requirements and confirm fixes
- Join team discussions and share what quality issues you are seeing
What we're looking for
- 0–1 year of QA experience across manual and automation testing, through a job, internship or substantial projects
- Understanding of testing fundamentals: SDLC, STLC, bug life cycle and test case design
- Working knowledge of Java, including core programming and OOP concepts
- Hands-on practice with Selenium WebDriver and Playwright
- API testing experience using REST Assured
- Knowledge of Jira for tracking bugs and TestRail for managing test cases
- Fluency with AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT, and the judgment to check their output
- Attention to detail, clear communication and eagerness to learn
Nice to have
- Familiarity with TestNG or JUnit, and Maven
- Basic Git and CI/CD knowledge
- Experience with Postman and basic SQL
- A GitHub profile or portfolio showing your test automation work
